Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is for food and family togetherness. before you think about giving your pet any of that thanksgiving dinner think again. Foods like turkey, bread, can really hurt you pet. They can cause GI upset, pancretitis and may even lead to death. Along with hurting your baby it can also hurt your wallet. Bloodwork, IV fluids, medication and hospitazition can get expensive quickly. So have fun, hanging out with family and having good food, but remember your pets are not left out just because they don't get turkey and cranberry sause. they will just as happy just hang out with y'all.

Small pets , they count also
It is important to remember that all pets deserve proper care. When you accept the responsibility of any living creature, that counts for everything: health, feeding, housing, training, petting, loving.
There are no such things as " throw away pets". We are always ready and willing to send folks information for pet care, just contact us via phone and we will gladly assist you.

Then there were the hamsters
You remember the little hamster. Most folks have had them as their first pet.
They deserve veterinary treatment also. Here, we are delighted to say ,we see them and often can help them. So don't think of this little guy as a " throw away", this is a little life deserving of care, love and medical help when needed.

Did You Know
Kitties often do not make it to the veterinarian because they are so darn hard to catch. Here at the clinic, we allow you to drop off your pets. This means that if your kitty hears you making an apt. or sees the carrier and streaks outside, you can bring kitty in when you catch him/her.
Kitties need a physical exam each year, just like we do. They have vaccine and health issues that need to be addressed. So do not be afraid and don't worry, we have you covered.
Drop-off....you can do it.

Halloween
Don't forget that this is the time that allergies affect our 4 legged kids. It is NOT all about fleas. If your kiddo is chewing and scratching, it may be allergens. Come by and lets make sure. You can always try benadryl, the standard 25mg. is not going to cause your baby any problems. If you notice that it is helping, that is one way of telling that your kiddo has allergies.
On that note: no candies, no trick or treating for the 4 leggeds. Make sure they are safely inside and were no one can do any tricks on them.

No Heartworm treatment available READ!!!
Please note: Due to lack of raw materials, IMMITICIDE, the approved heartworm TREATMENT, not the prevention, is no longer available. The makers are not sure when it will come back. The American Heartworm Society is asking all veterinarians to warn people. KEEP YOUR DOGS ON monthly heartworm prevention.............Once they get it, there is no cure at this time......

The tick saga continues
this tubfull of small seed ticks can kill a 20 lb pet in 72 hours by making them so anemic they cannot live. It takes frontline 48 hours to kill ticks.
It is extremely important to check your outdoor pets very carefully every day. All it takes is one nest of these.
as we discussed previously, ticks are here...they are not going away yet. We have had several cases of extreme tick attacks, and not just on the pets. Check these pictures out.
