We are so very excited. Our kitten has found a home. She will be leaving next week and we are overjoyed. Her new mom is great, and her new home fantastic.  Sometimes things go well

What now?

Here we are again, waiting to see if we find that little kitten a home. Two weeks later and not one person is interested. Now What?
We are begging for someone to be interested and take her home. $60. This will mean she is spayed, has had her vaccines and is ready to go home. Does no one want this poor baby?
She is one of soo many. I know that people get sick of being lectured about spaying and neutering. What do we do? How do we get the word out that only by being responsible can the problem of unwanted pets be resolved.
They are soooooo cute when they are small, then we toss them like so much trash.
If each person could reach another person and help them understand the importance of spaying and neutering.

HELP!!

Thank You for the Kittens

Yesterday Tuesday 6/21/2011 a well dressed lady, in a new burgundy colored mustang was kind enough to leave a present at the Animal Hospital. The box that was left at our door, after we were closed, contained 1 mother cat and 3 small kittens..and Oh Yes, a bag of cat food.
Thank you so much.
If you found them, then you should have called the animal shelter to pick them up. If they were yours, then you should have called the animal shelter or better yet, you should have had the female spayed. Then there would be no small kittens.
Myself and the staff are heartbroken because we do not have any room for these poor kids. We are the ones having to call the animal shelter. We still have a kitten looking for a home, not to mention the other 4 that we have adopted.
Please be aware: We are not a Humane Society, nor are we an animal shelter.
We cannot take your unwanted pets, all we can do is call the shelter.
Please do not drop off pets here.

If you are that lady, at least you know that they did not run out onto hwy 89 and get run over.
All these pictures are of pets that were dumped here at the clinic. We have 4 dogs, 4 cats, 2 iguanas and 1 bird..please do not drop off any more here. Thanks.

Hot Weather is Here!!

During the next few months, as summer approaches, the temperature is just going to rise. Be sure to give your outdoor four-legged critters fresh water. Outside pets require fresh water and shade to prevent heat strokes, dehydration, and exhaustion.

The summer months also bring mosquito's, fleas, and ticks. Mosquito's carry many diseases. Standing water can cause an abundance of mosquito's that can be harmful to you and your beloved pets. Heart worms which are transmitted by mosquito's. Monthly heart worm preventive and annual heart worm screenings are very important to your pet's health.

Be sure to stop by to pick up your monthly supply of heart worm preventive, and flea and tick medicine!!

Ticks and other Friends.

Please make sure to check your pets and yourselves for these pesky friends. In our area Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever can be a real problem. Ticks are the ones that pass on that disease, along with other disease like lyme disease. So just do a daily check to make sure you do not have any of the critters.

Babies are being born and aren't those babies cute

Spring is a time when a lot a babies are being born and those babies are very cute, just remember that if you want a puppy or kitten it is a life long comentment. Puppies and kittens really need to be checked over and vaccinated and checked for worms.
just like children puppies and kitten require series of vaccines to provide protection againist parvo and distemper and several other diesieses. these vaccines can start at 8 weeks of age and at 16 weeks(4 months) the can recieve their rabies.

Those Turtles Keep Crossing

Do not forget to keep your eyes open for all the small creatures that go across our highways and by-ways. Turtles, snakes, possums and birds will all hang around the yellow and white lines...they are playing the Geiko game.
If you find an injured one, bring it to the clinic, NO CHARGE.

But make it your goal to save the wildlife for our future generations.

Finding that Love

In this fast paced time we live in, we should all stop and smell the roses. We need to remember that the important people in our lives are aging and we need to make time to visit with them.

It is equally important to remember that Geriatric pets also deserve our time and love. Maybe you should consider a Geriatric pet to adopt, or a Geriatric pet for a companion for your aging relatives. It is much easier for them and the pet than getting a young companion. Check out all the web sites available for pets.

Wow is it HOT!!

Make sure that if your pet is kept outdoors, there is plenty of Fresh water and that your pet can get to shade. Don't assume that the kids are taking care of it, MAKE Sure. Pets can and do get HEAT STROKES and it will kill them.

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS IN THE CAR. If you are in the car 2 minutes with the air conditioning off, the temperature in the car ( even with windows open) will increase by 10 degrees hotter than the outdoor temp. So if it is 90, your car is 100. WHOA
